Why there's a minimum at all
Every card payment carries a fee from the payment network, and that fee barely changes whether you add a little or a lot. On a very small top-up, most of your money would disappear into it before it ever reached your books.
So we set a small, honest minimum — $5 — and keep as much of what you pay as possible going into the actual making. It's a floor, never a limit: you can always add more.
A full year, every time you top up
Every amount you add comes with a whole year of validity — and each new top-up starts its own fresh year. So you're never rushed into making something before you're ready. Everyone has a world of stories; yours can wait for the right moment.

Planning and writing cost very little. The illustrated book is the bigger part — so you can read the whole story first and decide with your eyes open.
Writing and illustrating are priced separately, so you only pay for the part you actually ask for. Physical printing, narration and other formats will be priced separately when they arrive.
